renovation ... revitalization ... renewal!
This old girl has seen some good times and rough times, too. From her hey-day as a US Post Office in 1931, next serving as a library beginning in 1972, then the destructive downburst in 1993 (and caved-in roof and ceilings!) ... leading to her last incarnation as the Monroe Art Guild, she has served this community well.
It's an on-going endeavor of love to keep her whole and happy!
Thanks to the never-flagging efforts of the City of Monroe, their knowledgeable (who else understands the arcane intricacies of this Neo-Classical gem with its *internal* gutter system?) and hard-working Maintenance staff and our own volunteers, our building has not just survived but thrived for almost 80 years.

In 2017, thanks to the forward-thinking folks at the City of Monroe, we had a brand-new roof installed. No more leaky ceilings!
Thanks to grants from the Walton County Foundation, individual donations and volunteer efforts, we have added three new classrooms. We hear it many times a week -- new residents in our fair city are amazed that such a small town boasts such a fine Center for the Arts. We are so grateful to the City and to our Members for supporting us through the years -- 25 years in 2018!
