- Golden Heavy Body or Liquitex Heavy Body (NOTE: Liquitex BASICS is NOT the same paint)

- o Paynes Gray (or Ivory Black),
- o Cadmium Yellow Light (or Hansa Yellow) - Cadmium - Free is good, too
- o Cadmium Yellow Medium ( or Indian Yellow)
- o Alizarin Crimson ( or Quinacridone Magenta)
- o Cadmium Red Light (or Cadmium Red Medium) Cadmium - Free is good, too
- o Cerulean Blue (or Phthalo Blue Green Shade or Viridian)
- o Ultramarine Blue (or Dioxane Purple)
- Brushes: You’ll need at least two brushes: one large and one small. Recommended sizes 12 and 8 or 6 and 10 of a synthetic bristle or hog bristle with a long handle. Brushes should be a bit “stiff”, not too soft. If you need new brushes, these are good brands: Silver Brush Grand Prix and Princeton Catalyst.
- Palette Knife: The most useful shape is called Trowel. It has a triangle shape and a bend down from the handle.
- Canvas or Canvas Boards: You will need one or two per class of any size you prefer.
- 1 sturdy water bowl (Cool Whip size is good)
- 1 Roll Paper Towels
We don’t take a formal lunch break but you can bring a snack or lunch if you like.

BEGINNER POTTERY SIX WEEK COURSE
Tuesday nights from 6:30 - 8 pm. Class size is limit is 6. New class launches every couple of months. Beginners only. Next course TBA - email Rebecca

- $160 for non-members.
- $35 for a bag of clay, includes studio glazes and firing. A bag of clay will typically last you through at least six weeks of pottery.

- Beyond the Paint pARTy with Jennifer

Fee: $225 for 8 hours of instruction - includes all supplies. If you have your own paintbrushes, please bring them to class.
FIRST -- Email Jennifer to arrange your class time. She has both day and evening availability.
THEN -- Once you both agree on your class schedule, Jennifer will email you a payment link.
This is a beginner's acrylic painting course which will be held 8-9 hours. Jennifer is flexible with how you'd like to schedule your classes, many options are available. Jennifer developed this class after many requests from her paint party students that wanted a deeper dive and more personalized instruction!
Classes will be held at MWCA with one field trip to Jennifer's studio (located in downtown Monroe) for a class.
Here's what you can expect:
- Introduction: We kick off with an overview of the course, objectives, and materials.
- Materials & Tools: A deep dive into various types of paint brushes, tools, and surfaces. Students will learn the purpose of each tool and how to care for them.
- Color Mixing: Understanding color theory and mixing techniques to achieve the perfect hues and shades.
- Brush Strokes & Techniques: Mastering different brush strokes and techniques like blending, dry brushing, and layering to create diverse effects.
- Hands-on Practice: Guided practice sessions where students apply what they've learned through exercises and mini-projects.
- Q&A & Feedback: Open sessions for questions, feedback, and personalized guidance to ensure every student gains confidence and skill.
Throughout the course, Jennifer fosters a supportive and encouraging environment, where creativity flourishes and every student feels empowered to express their unique artistic vision.
