Introduction to Woodturning: Salt and Pepper Shaker Set
Saturday, Jan. 23 from 8:00 am – 12:00pm REGISTER HERE Skill Level: Beginner / Intermediate Instructor: Todd Tetterton Registration closes by 1/22 or when the class fills. Only four spots available in this class! Have you ever wanted to try wood turning? Join us in this fun and interesting class and learn about the wood lathe, how to use basic tools and properties of wood for making different objects. Use the skills from this class to move on to our subsequent turning classes. In this class you will be provided with the tools, equipment and instruction to allow you to use your creative talents to fashion a salt and pepper set that you will be proud to show your friends and say, “ I made this!”. Cost: $ 40.00 for members; $45 for non-members plus a lab fee of $ 10.00 Note: class will be held in an upstairs classroom and you will be on your feet much of the time. Friday, January 15 from 7 - 9 pm Painting: expressive peacock! Class size limited. We are following all state-mandated cleaning protocols, class size and distancing requirements. We’ll provide a couple of bottles of wine; feel free to bring your favorite and/or some snacks to share. from Donna ... We will have a fun evening of painting, encouraging, talking, and lots of laughter! You may start out as strangers but by the end of the evening you do not leave feeling that way ... Art has a way of bringing people together. As always I encourage everyone to make the paintings that we paint "their own" so always feel free to change background colors etc. You are the artist! I am just giving you a place to start and instruction along the way. Adults only - fun girls' night out! Fee:

Bring your own yarn and needles (your yarn package will tell you what size needles to use). For more experienced knitters: bring a pattern that has you stumped and Sandy will help you! Saturday, January 30 1 - 4 pm Basic Digital Photography with Robert Richardson REGISTER HERE Did you get a camera for Christmas? Learn how to use it! Bob is an award-winning photographer and will teach you the intricacies of your camera and getting the best shots possible. Approximately two hours of instruction followed by some real-world photography and critique. Bring your camera! Free with your class – Bob’s own Basic Digital Photography course book. $30 for members; $35 for non-members. Bring a snack for a short mid-class break. Beginner Guitar Lessons with Zach Coffman: Thirty-minute-long individual lessons starting at 4pm on Mondays. Schedule your time and register by emailing Zach Learn basic chords and how to keep your guitar in tune. Next learn tabs - a really fun and non-stressful way to learn lead/rhythm guitar parts. From there you will learn how to play songs and even your own composition! Fee: $25 per lesson for members; $30 per lesson for non-members. Ages 9 to adult. You will need your own guitar – electric or acoustic. Pay Zach in cash or check at the time of class. ABOUT ZACH Many of you know Zach as our friendly and talented part-time staff here at MWCA! In addition to working here, Zach is a fulltime student with Toccoa Falls College. He is a gifted musician who has been playing guitar for over 5 years and is in a band, "Intension". Zach mentors younger teens and is integrating a new music program here at MWCA. His goal is to bring awareness to local talent and encourage people who might not share their talent to come forward and perform for our open mics! |
