A Historic Look at South Broad with Monroe historian, Steve Brown, of the Monroe Museum Saturday, August 3 at 10 am Free and open to the public Meet at the Monroe Museum at 227 South Broad Street at 10am Ever wanted to know the history of our unique building and the surrounding block? We have! Monroe’s own historian, Steve Brown will host a FREE history talk and walk through MWCA and some sidewalks around Broad Street and Washington Street. Join us Saturday, August 3rd at 10:00am at the Monroe Museum, located at 227 S Broad Street, for a historical presentation. The group will then walk some together and end touring MWCA. Make Tutus with Barbara Mock

We will make tutus (easy craft project) with tulle and all supplies provided by Barbara Mock of "Tutu Capers". A fun and meaningful project as tutus are delivered to area children's hospitals, and fits in so well with our "healing arts" initiatives.
Barbara says, "Tutu Capers' goal is to bring a smile and some "super power" into children's lives."

Nature Meets Art: Show and Tell a garden-themed show and sale at THE ROE in downtown Monroe April 24 - August 4 Closing Reception: Sunday, August 4 from 5 - 7pm at The Roe! Meet the artists and enjoy some great Roe snacks in the private dining room. Cash bar (and restaurant) will be open, too. Please visit The Roe to see this beautiful show featuring our artists! Old Time Open Music Jam Third Saturday of each month from 1 - 4 pm. You're invited to drop by and listen ... or join in and play! Free and open to the public. Old time open jam --- acoustic instruments only: fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, bass. Join in if you'd like -- old time music only. During pleasant weather, we can jam outdoors in the sculpture garden. |
Monroe Makers FROM 1 - 3 - free creative gatherings! Drop-in! Free drop-in "do your own thing" and/or paint angels with Grace - from 1 - 3. All supplies provided. Bring a snack and hang out, fellowship, make new friends while you paint angels for our ART MD kits! Ages 14+ *You are welcome to bring your own projects and supplies, too, if you'd like to do your own thing.* |
Volunteer Orientation is held at your convenience - Email our Volunteer Coordinator, Robbin Moore, to schedule a time for a brief introduction (about 45 minutes) to MWCA and ways you can help. This will be led usually by Hope Reese, the director of MWCA or by Robbin. Email Robbin for more information! Our volunteer form can also be filled out online. You can find it HERE.
