Good day to our Monroe-Walton Center for the Arts Members!

Here's the list of our Members' Show winners plus a couple other announcements.  Above you'll see a few of our winners that I was able to catch through the evening.

1 -- MEMBERS' SHOW
CONGRATULATIONS to our 2020 Members Show Winners - announced at our fabulous celebration Wednesday night...

Thank you to *all* who entered our show - it's great one because of your talent and willingness to share the wonder and beauty of art with our community.

And SO MANY THANKS to our Gallery Committee, headed by Shirley Yagrich, who works tirelessly to bring our community these wonderful shows. Our Regional Show is coming up in APRIL - please consider entering this juried show that is open to all artists, members and non-members alike.

2 -- BOARD POSITIONS OPEN
We have two Chairs open as of January 1 on our Board of Directors.  Our board is a working board and each board position has its own committee and responsibilities to oversee.  We have an interview process and orientation documents so you can have a clear understanding of what our expectations are if you are approved onto the Board.  These are important - CRUCIAL - positions ... and again, we're reaching out to our members for your help.  You don't have to be an artist to serve -- just a love for this place, agreement with our mission and the time & commitment to serve for a minimum of two years.  You'll make new friends and be a part of a great team of creative, caring people!

• Events/hospitality:  helps to plan special events and coordinate refreshments
• Fund-raising:  building relationships and seeking out partnerships with local businesses and individuals to sponsor our shows; and other donation/support opportunities for MWCA.

Volunteers are always needed as well, especially on our Saturday Soiree Days (the next one is Feb. 8), in our Special Needs classes and general help in the shop and gallery.

3 -- NEW CLASSES
We've launched three new on-going classes reaching new groups - 

• a monthly teens night out, 
• a monthly preschool art time and 
• a weekly adult painting class.  

These are in addition to our new JEWELRY and POETRY classes, plus a new class opening up in our Pottery Studio and 70+ classes we hold each month.  Please check out all our classes HERE.

Thank you all, once again, for you support for this place.  I've heard this comment twice in the last 24 hours - "I wish I lived closer to Monroe so I could get involved here!"
