CLASSES Check out our classes and events online HERE. I'm working on adding a weekly Tai Chi class. This will be held on Friday mornings from 10 - 11 am at The Bridge of Georgia (many thanks to them!) because we don't have room here. This class will start January 7 and look for registration info to be added soon! Here is EVERYTHING you need to know!! Members' Shows are an open call to all MWCA members -- it's your chance to show off your talent and artistry! We encourage all our members in good standing to plan for our annual Members' Show. And if you have friends who are not members, that's not a problem! We are open to all local artists -- have them join us today for many great benefits! All members, regardless of experience or expertise are encouraged to enter our Members' Show. It's a benefit of membership and a great opportunity to support your local art center, plus have your works on display and for sale in our Gallery! This exhibit is also open to Youth (ages 10 - 17 ). This is a showcase for YOUR talent. Our MWCA Members' Show presents all our members' works: experienced, even professional artists' works, emerging artists and novices alike in a single show, highlighting our commitment to fostering a community of support for artists of all levels. All works accepted as long as they meet our guidelines, listed below. ELIGIBILITY- Open to all current members of MWCA. FEES (for up to three entries) Limit of three entries per artist. Adult: $35 due at time of drop off with application form completed in full. Youth (10 - 17 years old)): $5 per entry. Please list child’s age on form. AWARDS: Cash prizes awarded in these categories: 2-D, 3D/Sculpture, Functional Pottery, Photography and Youth – first and runner up in each. Also Best in Show. APPROVAL BY COMMITTEE: The MWCA committee reserves the right to reject any artwork due to size (no larger than 40" x 40", framed) and weight limitations or inappropriateness. SALES: We prefer that all works be available for sale. MWCA charges a 25% commission on all sales. SECURITY: Reasonable security is provided for the duration of the exhibition. Care will be taken in the handling, hanging and displaying of the work. However, MWCA will not be held responsible or liable for the loss or damage of any art. Artwork left longer than 30 days after the closing of the show will become the property of MWCA. SUBMISSION FORM MUST ACCOMPANY THE ARTWORK AT THE TIME OF SUBMISSION. We will handle making copies of your form (available at the center at the time of drop-off). You can then attach the ID tabs after copies have been made at the time of drop-off. ARTWORK REQUIREMENTS We reserve the right to refuse any work not meeting these specifications. Art must hang for the duration of the show. All artwork must be delivered ready to be hung.
