GUILD MEETING & ANNUAL MEETING Our next Guild gathering will be a potluck lunch on Sunday, October 30th at 1:00. Join us for creative conversation and a delicious lunch. Bring your best dish and guild event ideas as we build our 2023 Guild event calendar. RSVP to [email protected] This meeting is open to ALL current MWCA members! ANNUAL MEETING Hang out for a little while AFTER the Guild Meeting to attend our brief Annual Meeting at 2:00 on 10/30. This meeting is required by our constitution - Nancy Moate, our treasurer, will present the 2023 budget. You can also meet and talk to our board members. See you there! MISTLETOE IN MONROE CHRISTMAS TOUR OF HOMES -- DEC 10 Tickets are selling briskly! Based on our sales just in this first week, I expect we will sell out - as we've already sold over 1/4 of the tickets available! Drop by the Center to buy or you can purchase online. We MAY NOT have tickets available for walk-up buyers on Dec 10. NOTE: You'll have to visit the art center between December 1 - 10 to pick up your Guide Map/Ticket. I urge you to go ahead and purchase your tickets soon! IN THE GALLERY The Christmas Gift Show will start installing Sunday, October 23 through Friday October 28 - but we WILL BE OPEN during that time. Feel free to drop in and get a preview and do some early shopping! The Shop officially opens October 29 - next Saturday. You'll be amazed and the lovely, unique and affordable gifts available -- ALL made by our local artist-members. Support local artists! Our entire gallery will be transformed into a Christmas Shop - hundreds of gifts, most under $35. We will have a Christmas Open House Saturday, November 5 from 3 - 7 pm. Join us for seasonal refreshments, some raffles and meet many of the artists in the shop. IN THE SHOP Our new SHOP COMMITTEE has been working hard to re-imagine the shop and decorate - I can't wait to see what they do on Wed., Oct 26 to deck the halls! :-) LIGHT UP THE NIGHT & Candlelight shopping (a city-wide event) begins Thursday, November 3 from 5 - 8 pm. We will be open Thursday evenings in Nov and Dec from 5 - 8 pm. BOOK NOOK The book nook has been totally refreshed and we're getting ready to have some exciting events there, too -- kicking off with a book signing by our own Literary Arts Chair, Barbara Barth signing her new Christmas novella, A Wingman for Christmas -- Sunday, Nov 6 from 1:30-4:30. Barbara is donating ALL SALES back to the Art Center - THANKS, Barbara!! Did you know we have a BOOK CLUB? We will have a Soiree with fun drop-in workshops and also our much-requested BBQ fundraiser is back! We have some excellent cooks here!! The fundraiser is for the pottery studio to buy some much-needed equipment (air cleaners and vented hoods and brackets) -- about $3,000 is needed. Please support your local arts center by buying a BBQ plate and baked goods ... and help is needed too, to prepare foods.
